Since 2004, the OReilly Theatre have established a unique partnership with Crash Ensemble as the O'Reilly's residential group. This move is mutually beneficial for both organizations: enhancing the artistic programming and audience development for both new and world music presentations. The theatre sees Crash's residency as the cornerstone of its innovative music programme.
Crash Ensemble, one of Ireland's most dynamic and innovative performing groups, was founded in 1997 by composer Donnacha Dennehy, conductor and pianist Andrew Synnott and clarinetist Michael Seaver.
Since its first sold-out concert in Dublin, the group has attracted enthusiastic audiences for its particular blend of music, video, dance and electronics and has built an enviable reputation for its presentation of exciting, high quality concerts of contemporary music.
Crash Ensemble is interdisciplinary in outlook, bringing together musicians, composers, video artists, choreographers and lighting designers to present contemporary music and multimedia works in a stimulating and entertaining way.
